chapter 15

The beginning of the chapter starts with Christianity and how it globalized to many areas in the world. Though Catholicism was very popular still there were also controversial attributes to it. Such as when Martin Luther King JR pointed things out that he does not feel benefit or belong in a religion. He released the Ninety Five Theses. When people started to move to other locations and settle they were obviously also able to bring their religions with them.
Other countries also put their own input on religion such as adding La Virgen De Guadalupe into the Catholic Church. Or the Chinese adding Christianity into their culture and blending the two together.
The scientific revolution was created and changed how people saw the universe and how it developed. This theory came from Sir Isaac Newton.

This foundress week I was only able to participate in two events. The first being helping pack lunches which honestly made me feel really good about giving back. The second being doing parts of the scavenger hunt in which I was also able to learn new things such as that the school was founded during 1851 and learning more about our hallmarks. The handout that was passed out in class also impacted me because I was able to see two strong females and members of the church give back to people while bringing up Notre Dame de Namur.

Intro to part 4

Strayer starts off the introduction to part four by saying how historians were able to see various present-day modernization characteristics during the early modern ear. This would suggest traits such as globalization and the social rank of the Europeans in correspondence to world affairs. Globalization and the power Europeans had played hand in hand. Strayer mentions their oceanic presence which is a huge part of globalization because Europeans were able to spread throughout the globe via voyaging and therefore were also able to conquer various land. Having this power also connected them to trading opportunities such as the Global Silver Trade. Religion was also immensely important to Europeans, however, they were also able to spread that religion thus making the presence of Christianity that much more important. Something else Strayer mentions was how Eurasia experienced setbacks such as the Black Death and Mongol Wars however these setbacks later contributed to the population ...
